Badger

Badger

If you remember Walt Disney’s Goofy the Dog, then Badger might seem familiar to you. Badger, who loves to swim, fetch balls, and explore local rails to trails can be as goofy as a Disney cartoon if you spend time playing with him in the yard. Badger is a 49 lb., 6 year old, neutered, housebroken Border Collie and Hound mix. Badger’s habit of trying to “herd” a little girl who used to visit his home landed him at the shelter even though he was fine with older children. Badger, who reportedly was kept in the garage, also lived with other dogs and cats but we were told he was fed in a separate room because he could be possessive with his food. Badger has the beautiful markings of a Border Collie minus the static cling and tangles because his fur is Hound dog short. Badger responds well to positive training and leadership; he’s in need of a loving teacher; who could resist his Border Collie curiosity and smarts, combined with Hound dog affection and playfulness? We picture Badger yucking it up with an active person, couple, or family who understands his need for mental challenges and adventure. Badger is the item you find at the Good Will that’s a little scuffed and banged up, but all it takes is some time and attention, a little spit and polish, to make you realize what a precious treasure you’ve found.
